SPRING 2021 CREATORS' FUND GRANTEES
The Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship has generously partnered with FRAY to enable us to offer five $200 microgrants to student creators pursuing fashion or beauty-related ventures. We are excited to announce that the following talented student creators will be receiving funding this semester, and we hope to offer this opportunity to more students in the future! Stay tuned for future opportunities.
OLIVIA NAJERA-GARCIA ('21)
I’m Olivia Najera-Garcia and I do graphic design and traditional portraits. I use Photoshop to create designs that focus on social and environmental justice. I am currently working on a series of t-shirts that will highlight the work being done by mutual aid groups in Dallas, TX with an emphasis on the fun, creative aspects of revolutionary movements.
DACHELLE WASHINGTON ('22)
I am Dachelle. I'm a black queer singer/songwriter from Harlem, NY. I make fun music that explores love, joy, and empowerment, especially in the lives of young black people. My music is available on all streaming platforms under "Dachelle" and some earlier releases can be found under "Dach" :)
IVANIE LUCIA CEDEÑO ('22)
My name is Ivanie Cedeño, and I am the owner of Sol Blossom Crochet, a slow fashion custom crochet clothing brand. I am Boricua and orgullosa of my roots, which are ever present within the colors, textures and patterns of the bralettes, sweaters, two pieces, dresses, purses etc that I make. I approach my handwork by buying recycled, plant based, occasionally animal based yarn from local small businesses.
HOLLY GREENE ('22)
My name is Holly Greene, and I run a shop of hand-painted, upcycled clothes and accessories called Little Crush Clothes. Little Crush is a brand built around responsible, sustainable consumption and ideas about sharing and starting over.
